In other words, if your host computer has an IDE CD drive, you can set up the virtual machine's drive as either SCSI or IDE and connect it to the host's drive. You can configure the virtual DVD or CD drive as either IDE or SCSI, no matter what kind of physical drive you connect it to. You can connect the virtual machine's drive to a physical drive on the host machine or to an ISO image file. You can add one or more DVD or CD drives to your virtual machine. The I googled the problem and your mesage came up, so I downloaded the UDFReader and loaded it, then reboot and WAM!!! IT NOW WORKES. So there I was in a HOLE!!! swearing away at this disk drive. I then rang LG Service line and they could not help me at all. So I took it straight back and swapped it over with another unit., got home and same problem. So I went to the local swap meet and brought a new LG BH14NS40 for seventy dollars, took it home plug it in to my Windows XP service Pack 3 operating system, and it could see CD'S OK, then DVD'S OK, but as soon as I put in a Blue Ray Disk the computer thought it was a CD disk and gave me a blank screen. I brought a new 3D LCD TV last week, and I wanted to copy some Blueray disks to use on it. Is their some sore decoder I need to be able to see my blu ray disc ? What am I doing wrong here people ? Pls help, thanks Wow Thanks for your posting this problem as I am having the exact same problem. It doesn't show any blu ray disc from my optical drive. Now I have the CyberLink PowerDVD 10 Ultra 3D software and I can play the blu ray movie with it but I still don't see anything at all from my optical drive. Under My Computer whenever I put a bought blu ray movie I see it change to cd drive and nothing appears. In the Devise Manager area I see DVD/CD ROM drive > HL-DT-ST BD-RE UH10LS20. I went and bought the LG BD-ROM/DVD Rewriter OEM model #UH10LS20. I'm trying to play blu ray movies on my computer.
